Proposal for a project in India. The pagoda like structure combines traditional architecture with modern construction. Carl Pruschas’ project statement:
. The unique importance of the location for the world of Buddhism requires a structure, whose significance symbolizes a meaning far beyond the functional requirements of a given programme.
. Therefore the archetype of the Mandala has been choosen to represent in its three dimensional interpretation a dignified contribution
to the place.
. The structure in itself combines the two worlds of our contemporary existence
. a technologically advanced steel reinforced skeleton of wide cantntilevering platforms and the infill of build volumes consisting of burned bricks
. the most ancient building material already in use during the days of the Buddha.
